Derived from algae and selected sea animals, Astaxanthin has been proven to be an extremely powerful antioxidant and free radical scavenger. Uniquely able to pass through the blood-brain barrier, Astaxanthin has been shown to support cognitive health, retard macular degeneration and act as an effective anti-inflammatory agent. As a fat-soluble compound, there are however challenges to effective absorption.
MicroActive Astaxanthin is a free flowing water dispersible paste containing 2.5% of micronized Astaxanthin, suitable for soft gel capsules. The formulation provides sustained release of the active approximately twice that of the control. Small clinical studies indicate that it is 5.8 times more bioavailable as compared to the control.
