MicroActive PQQ is taken as a dietary supplement to support mitochondrial health and cellular energy production, and to protect the body from oxidative stress. Most notably, PQQ stimulates the spontaneous growth of new mitochondria in aging cells, and activates genes that govern mitochondrial reproduction, protection, and repair. PQQ is also highly water-soluble and is therefore eliminated quickly. MicroPQQ® sustained release formula improved residence time and thereby improves bioavailability and efficacy.
Combination of dissolution studies and a small human trial indicated that MicroPQQ® was 2.2 times better absorbed than the control. Produced a 12 hour sustained release profile.
Additionally, Micro PQQ is produced with the same technology that is responsible for improved uniform absorption in other either water-soluble or fat-soluble actives.
Mechanism of Action: MicroActive Technology
Micro PQQ increases absorption by reducing particle size less than 10 microns thereby promoting more efficient transport through the digestive track and cell walls. In addition, the proprietary mix of polymers in Micro PQQ slows the release rate allowing for absorption over a longer time period. Evidence supports the claim that this combination of greater absorption and sustained release creates a more uniform absorption from subject-to-subject, improving the probability that all consumers will benefit from the active.
Safety
PQQ is a safe, naturally occurring essential nutrient found in foods such as kiwi, green peppers, potatoes, tofu and green tea. PQQ from which MicroPQQ is derived has been the subject of numerous safety studies, including acute toxicity and genotoxicity studies, in both humans and animals.
